The screened porch, or as we prefer to call it the Aviary is one of our most used spaces in the house, especially in the warmer months. The screened patio is an ‘optional extra’ to the Alside Homes, and was not a standard feature. Ours is beautifully fitted out with interchangeable wire screens to plexiglass screens making it more of a three season room [December to February is way too cold to be out there]. It is a large space that we have divided into two areas: a dining area; and a lounging area. The furniture was switched out when we moved in. We have always wanted the Sculptura outdoor furniture made by Woodard, who have been in business since 1866, based in Owosso, Michigan. Our pieces are vintage [sourced from eBay + Etsy + Charish] that have been refinished, however, they are remaking pieces and they are available at Design Within Reach. We still have the original furniture, it is on a long term loan to some friends.
Here is the chronological timeline of photos throughout the years as to how the Aviary has changed.

This shows brochure of the patio area not enclosed, we are thankful that the builders showcased the sales model with all the optional extras. The Aviary is truly one of our favorite spaces to do nothing in but watch and listen to nature.
