The formal dining room came complete with a Saarinen oval table and tulip chairs. They are the most perfect dining table that we have ever had dined at, its a timeless setting. If you are looking for an investment this is it. The light fixture made from aluminium and plastic with walnut accents, has 3 settings for brightness, and is adjustable in height, made by Prescolite [founded in 1944 and American made].

Our current dinner set is a vintage Noritake dinner set. It is not original to the house, but it is however the wedding china of Bob’s parents [long divorced], and never used, that is until we got out hands on it. We also have Bob’s Mothers dowry crystal glassware.

Here is a view of the dining room when we purchased the house. We have since switched out the carpet to a resin terrazzo tile, it now runs throughout the house replacing 9 different floor coverings.

Below is a table setting that was shown in the Alside Homes Inc. sales brochure. We are off to scour Etsy for some pieces to recreate this tablescape – it’s perfection. Thanks to a reader we have discovered that the dinner set is most likely ‘Contessa Black’ by Flintridge and made in California, it was later reproduced by Gorham and made in Japan. Now to identify the glassware + Silverwear + salt & pepper shakers.
